Books That Grow is seeking New Jersey based educators for its Literacy Lab, located in Newark, NJ
As part of our ongoing commitment to innovation, Books That Grow is launching a literacy laboratory, in partnership with Newark Public Schools, to develop new instructional technologies and practices for improving literacy skills in adolescents.
We are seeking educators who can pilot our latest instructional tools while leading literature circles with middle schoolers Monday-Thursday from 3 to 5 PM. During each literature circle session, you will lead students through a text and model the critical thinking strategies needed to master the text. You’ll be using technology based tools to visualize your thinking and to help students visualize their own thinking. The goal is to help students develop the habits of mind needed to become confident, independent, and critical readers.
We’re seeking educators who love literature and tech and are skilled at providing instruction that is relevant to student’s lives. If this sounds like you, we’d love to speak to you about our Literacy Lab Fellowship
Must be available Mon -Thursday from 3-5PM
