A History of Hip-Hop
For some kids, Hip Hop is the only real music there is. But how did this blend of rhythm and poetry evolve? Hip hop is fast becoming a major part of the education world as high-profile artists launch educational initiatives that aim to engage urban youth. In the classroom, hip hop can serve as a way to reach those students who may be disengaged from traditional approaches to learning. Hip hop refers to a cultural and social movement, which includes emceeing, spoken word, break-dancing, beat-boxing, graffiti art and more.
